It has been reported that following Symbian Belle Refresh devices: Nokia N8, Nokia C6-01, Nokia C7-00, Nokia E6-00, Nokia E7-00, Nokia E6-00, Nokia X7-00, and Nokia Oro and Nokia 603, Nokia 700, Nokia 701 and Nokia 808 PureView having Belle Feature Pack 1 (FP1) or Belle Feature Pack (FP2) release are facing Wi-Fi interoperability (IOP) issues with some old WLAN Access Points (AP). An issue with the WLAN software has been identified and a fix has been made.
This trial applies to following Symbian Belle FP2 products: Nokia 603, Nokia 700, Nokia 701 and Nokia 808 PureView having Belle Feature Pack 1 (FP1) or Belle Feature Pack (FP2) firmware. The same trial is now available for Nokia N8, Nokia C6-01, Nokia C7-00, Nokia E6-00, Nokia E7-00, Nokia E6-00, Nokia X7-00, and Nokia Oro.
You have to disconnect the WLAN connection in order to get new the software into use. The easiest way is to turn the WLAN Off and then back On after installing this update.
- Turn WLAN Off
- Manually uninstall “WLAN Utilities” package from the installed applications.
- Turn WLAN On
In case you observe any issues with WLAN, please try to uninstall this package and test the same use case again to see if the same problem is visible with the old WLAN software. In any case, please create a bug report to the forum and specify the use case and give the requested information about the setup.
